what purpose is this knife designed for?

in that case, I think the concave edge is less practical than a straight edge, but it does look neat.
This knife definitely looks more like a weapon than a tool.
I think it would look a whole lot better with turk's heads at either end of the handle, I don't really care much for the exposed leather at the ends.
I do like the wrap over leather handle.

I would have to agree that the leather at the end should be neatened up a little. Love the Hamon though. Nice work.

overall not bad, though I would invest in a point, and a convex curve, but you probably made it to look cool so whatever floats your boat. also I would advise a solid handle

Blade looks great, hamon is gorgeous, the style (cut point) is really stylish among the bushy folks right now - and surprisingly practical. I even like the touch of recurve to the edge. It gives your blade some originality to the other shaped blades. Handle can be made cleaner. The leather should be trimmed better and thicker. Some ray skin under that para-wrap would look amazing on this blade. Do you harden the wrap with epoxy?

Looks like a very interesting piece!

Looks good Sam. I'd love to swing this!

I see too sharp edges on the tail of the handle. Easy to chip, and would be a hindrance if you were to grip or hand pound that into something? Just sayin. Keep the shape, but give them a small facet bevel.
