I am considering buying a Cold Steel Torpedo thrower. Before doing so, would love some feedback. It sounds like a unique innovation, but is it practical or cumbersome? Any comments, good and bad, are greatly appreciated.

Hi... I have one of each, the fatter and thinner. I like the thinner a lot. The fatter is just to damn big and heavy for my arm, but if you are a big guy it would be OK.

They throw beautifully and would make good hunting weapons for small game if you are accurate enough as sheer impact will stun or kill small enough game.

So they do work, may be a little clumsey and/or heavy to carry, and can be fun, but they are not as elegant as a good throwing knife.

They are not invulnerable either. After many dozens of throws I broke one of the tips off of the fatter one. I think like other CS throwers, they make the metal a tad too hard (brittle) for a thrower...

For the price though, not a bad toy...
