After posting my paracord and leather sheaths a few weeks back, I got an email from a fellow BladeForums member who wanted a similar sheath for a custom knife he recieved. He already had a kydex sheath, but prefered leather. After some initial confusion on the deminsions, I eventually managed to sketch out a design, shown below, that fit what he was asking. It is a two part rig. The sheath itself is seperate from the carying rig, allowing it to be carried either left or right handed. All thats needed is to simply flip the sheath over in the carry rig. Just loosesn the knots and you can remove the sheath for cleaning, repair or general dismantleing. The carry rig can also work with other sheath designs of similar size.
Details not shown include how the cord holding the securing straps are stitched through the backing of the carry rig and how the welts are trimmed to be molded to the knife guard to hold it in place without the need of some sort of buckle or snap loop.
Materials: 8 oz. white dyed cow hide with black paracord stitching.
