I have been here long enough to see many flames, wars, idiots, trolls, and any number of other such things. I try to stay out of things that don't directly involve me, but I feel the need to bring this up. This topic was started in another forum and I think it will be better viewed here. So.....

The real question here is this...Why did the whole forum have to be shut down??????

If the people that moderate a particular forum can't get along in a civil manner, then strip them of their moderating duties,Period.

Find someone else to moderate the forum, let it run by itself for awhile, or any other feasable idea someone can come up with. But, do not shut the whole thing down because of the childish behavior of the moderator's. It is not fair to the many people that post there on a regular (or even not regular) basis.

Myself and many others enjoyed the Common Sense forum and I feel a void by not being able to go there.

Bad move in my opinion

Jailhack, Mike has said that he will not speak publically about the reasons for this action. I'm sure he has good reason for saying that. The Practical Tactical forum is still there. The other is archived for the time being. It is not completely gone.

I think we have to accept that Mike made a difficult decision that he does not feel is appropriate to explain to everyone. The reasons behind it are very personal and are the business Only of the participants.

Nothing is over until it is over. And I certainly don't think this thing is over yet. But I hope everyone will take this as a well-intentioned act in time of serious trouble. I have no reason to think otherwise.

Being open minded is better than being suspicious. Wait this one out a little while. Hopefully, everything is going to turn out OK.

I won't question Mike's decision to ban Bob and Bram, but I, too, would like to see the forum remain open. There are many regulars there who would serve well IMO as moderators, Don Rearic, Leo Daher, Cougar Allen, & Steve Harvey come to mind. However, if the forum must remain closed, at least it should remain visible in a read-only format, like the archives. I was unable to access it even to read. Perhaps you, Para, could get in because you're a moderator? I would have liked the closed Chai Cutlery & Cold Steel forums to have remained visible as archives as well. Maybe this is something Mike could do for us, even if it means deleting the offensive thread if necessary. There's a lot of good information on that forum, and it would be a shame to lose the ability to search through it.

Para,

I am not asking Mike to explain all the details of the argument between Bram and Bob, and himself was about. It is none of mine or anyone else's business, and in reality, I don't even care.

I am just saying that the forum should not dissapear because of the acts of 2 individuals, that acted in an immature manner. This isn't about them, it is about the many people that posted there and enjoyed the forum.

Hiya Jailhack,
I suggest we not assume that any of this is because of anyone's behavior.
There could be many reasons for turning the forum off that have nothing to do with misconduct.
I'm not speculating, I'm just saying let's not accidentally trash the reps of two great guys for lack of information.
Be patient, time will reveal all.
