Since the massive communist election win in Nepal, India has kicked its Gorkha troops out of at least 2 critical positions, after all the first alliegence of all Gurkha & Gorkhas is Nepal. The only inlist in Brit. or indian army by sanction of king & goverment. {king know gone of course.}

So Fort William which is the head of the eastern Indian army has moved out its Gorkhas after 200 years & Darjeeling { Incidently the home of the communist independent Gurkhali army { etc.} who have been trying to get Darjeeling to become an independant Gurkha state in India & seperate from Nepal & supported the Nepalese maoists in the Nepali civil war, which has been the home of many Gurkha depots for over 100 years has also orderd them out.

Officialy the indian goverment are saying its for operational reasons, but many Indians & Gorkhas are saying they are no longer trusted as such a large percentage of there contrymen clearly supported the communist takeover in Nepal.

I wonder if the Brit. Goverment will reappraise the situation re. ther troops?

I think in time they will. But time will tell.
