not sure if they have these every place -but around me just about every weekend a volunteer firehouse, vfw or church has a chicken bbq-
after a while you get to know the real good ones-one of the good ones has one today so i dont have to cook anything-:D :D :D

Yea we have those around here as well....The local VFD is having a BBQ sale this weekend

WOOHOO!!!! :)

We don't have chicken barbecues, or really bbq's of any sort very often around here.

Instead, we have a WurstMarkt, and a LOT of 'em. Brats or pork sausage, German potato salad, cole slaw, and all the sauerkraut you can eat. Good stuff. Often there is fried chicken as well, but the fare is reflective of the protestant Germans who settled this area. Get over to the other side of the county, which was settled by Catholic Polish folks, and you'll see the same with polish sausage, and fish frys during lent.

I love German food, unfortunately my doctor doesn't like it for me. Something about fat, triglycerides and pancreatitus:(
