Steve,
I read today on the Spyder forum that the compression lock will eventually give way to lateral play with the blade but the liner lock won't do this. True? Thanks.

Did ya see my title? Back to normal! Lycosa
Untrue. They both can and often times do wear such that the blade develops vertical blade play.
I know Sal does not like hearing it but I have seen quite a few Para Military knives here for low rider clips. I have been absolutely amazed at the number I have had mailed to me. Its the most frequent knife I see of all others for low rider or clip flip work and since I've seen so many I get what I think is a fair taste of what is out there. I've seen a good many that have developed blade play. I've made no bones about the liner locks in general developing blade play but to be honest I see a few frame locks for this also.
It can be from wear by indenting the lock face like happens during spine whacks, and just as often if not more so its due to the lock not having sufficient spring tension to make it go that far across the inteface to continue self correcting/adjusting. So what happens is its got a real good lock up until the lock wears in but then it develops play because the lock won't move in any further beyond a certain point. On those its a matter of taking the lock out and respringing it to make it move farther and farther across the tang.
