Ruger recently came out with the 10/22 with a 16 1/8" barrel and a reduced stock. I don't know if they intended it for a "youth" model or not but I think it is awesome. I picked one up today. It has a slightly tactical feel to it with the shorter stock. Very handy.

I paid $220 for it. My Choate folding stock fits it as well.

I hope to shoot it this weekend and I will let you know how it does on the range.

I think it would be a perfect match for this stock from RPB

Absolutely love my 10/22. Go over to Rimfirecentral.com and you will learn tons from those guys. I have done the trigger with overtravel and takeup. Modified the bolt to a hold open design, bedded the action into my folding stock and mounted a carbon fiber barrel. Made a recoil buffer and slicked up the bolt and action to help with the low velocity ammo. Sweet shooting gun in a compact design.

My 10/22 is totally stock, but I'd love to put a folding stock on it and maybe better sights so it would be more rugged and portable.
