Compact folding bikes

I’m about convinced a folding bike is in my future. Something in the 20” wheel class. I have ridden road bikes in the past and they are great for speed and distance, but right now a compact, easy to pack, casual rider has a lot of appeal. Dahon and Tern for example have several models that make the list. I would appreciate input from anyone who has experience with this sort of bike.

I have an old Dahon SL Mu. I replaced the seat post with a Thudbuster and the seat with a Serfas gel seat to try to make the ride cushy. It took me a bit of getting used to the narrower or shorter handlebars but otherwise seemed to ride pretty well for shorter rides. There's no kickstand which is sometimes useful.

How has it held up for you? Anything about it you don’t like other than the lack of a kickstand?

No other complaints. There is padding on the handlebars but for longer rides it helps to have padded gloves, or maybe you can find some additional handlebar wraps or tennis grip etc.
