Anyone have experience with these Deerfos belts? I rec’d two as samples. 180 and 240 grit

very different belts than what I’m used to. Almost like a cork belt

I queried the dealer who sent these to me. Waiting for a response

Damn....they do resemble Cork. Interested to hear your feedback.

They are great finishing belts, not for any significant stock removal. I think you will like them. I use VSM compact grains and have Deerfos on order. The finish is more consistent and smooth than on for example Trizact gators.
They give a smoother and more satin look than the corresponding ceramic grit belt. Here's 220 grit.

I wonder how those compare to scotchbrite belts? Seems interesting might have to find a few to try.

They are very different. Compact grains have no "give" like Scotchbrites. But they are a little kinder to the knife maker than for example a brown AO J-flex when finishing.
Compact grains keep your lines of transition crisp.

Sorry people, I got it wrong with the pic above. That was 220 compact grain and then blue/green Scotchbrite.
This is 120 compact grain:

I have the 240 and 320 Deerfos. They work great but are stiffer than trizacts. I wish I could find them in higher grits.

For anyone in Europe, both

Enigma24.eu

and

Truhlarime.cz

sell them. They come both in X- and J-weight backing.
