I've got a great #23 in Bocote. I'm really impressed with the thinness of the blade and how sharp this blade gets... Love that 1095 steel. My question is this: I'm considering a #76 Western Outlaw. How's the grind on the main clip blade, how does it compare with the #23's great thin drop point?

I'm afraid I can't answer your question Jake, but +1 on that steel

I can't answer your question outright but I can compare the main clip on my 76 to some other GEC knives and maybe that will give you a little info.

The grind is slimmer at the bevel than any of the ones I own. This includes the 66 moose clip and spear, the 68 owl clip, the 33 clip, the 48 clip. The only one that is even close is the 66 and it is a bit thicker than the 76. This is the Northfield version so I am not sure if the Tidioute version is exactly the same or not. And of course you'll have a little variance between knives as well. But all in all the 76 has a noticeably thinner grind.

Thanks, Will. I've got my eye on one of those, in smooth yellow bone with the Texas Rose shield.
