Does anyone have both? What do you think? I like the shape and looks, but don't think I can bring myself to spending $400 on the original. Do you think the Buck version is as strong, reliable? Are they the same size? The dimensions look almost identical, just different materials and liner lock versus frame lock. Thanks.

If you search this forum for SBT and 882 you'll find a wealth of info and many comparisons to the SnG.

I have had both and the SBT is an excellent clone with the same ergonomics as the SnG. The ATS-34 blade is superb. All in all a well done knife. I'll be going after a plain edge G-10 when they come out but wouldn't hestitate to pick up another original SBT if the price was right.

I have had my SBT for a month now and I think it is a great EDC. I have never handled a Strider so I can not comment on the SNG. I know if I get a $400 blade I will probably loose it! I buy knives to use not sit in a safe(not that there is anything wrong with that). I am also interested in the new G10 version.

Thanks, gud4u. Very nice review, that gives me all the information I have been looking for.

I just purchased a new Buck/Strider Tarani Plain Edge on eBay and can't wait to get it! I used to own a Strider AR, but it was just TOO freakin HEAVY for my need! A Great knife, just a little too much for EDC. I am hoping the Buck version will be just enough lighter that it will be ok for my EDC. I currently own all the other Buck/Strider models, except for the small Tanto version, and have been pleased with the quality of them all. Good Luck!
