I was wondering what makes the ZT 300 double the price of the 200?
Is it twice as good, twice as tough, twice as nice?
Or are the materials in the 300 more costly?
I know the 300 can be stripped down, cleaned and rebuilt - how about the 200.
The 200 seems to have a longer blade, is it as thick and stong as the 300.

What is that makes the 300 more expensive that the 200 - and is the 300 a better knife than the 200?

I ask because neither are sold here in New Zealand and if I get one it will be vis the net...

The 0300 Series does have some more expensive materials.
Blade is S30V.
It is a framelock with the lock side made of 3D machined titanium.
The frame lock also has a Hinderer frame lock stop (licensing would also add to the cost).
It also has SpeedSafe.
The knife design was a Strider/Ken Onion collaboration.

The 0200 Series has a 154CM Blade with a liner lock.
Both sides are 3-D machined G-10 with steel liners.
It is a manual (very smooth) flipper.
I believe the 0200 is completely a Ken Onion design.

I don't know if what I listed justifies the price difference, but I have both, and carry the 0301 daily (along with a smaller SpeedSafe knife). I can't even really say why. Generally though I will carry all SpeedSafe or all manual flippers, never mixed.

What about blade size and thickness? The 0200 is a tad longer but the 0300 is way wider, are they the same thickness?

Thickness is the same, ZT200 - 4" x 1 1/4" and ZT300 - 3 3/4" x 1 7/16"

Both are pretty good knives and some prefers one some another. I have both and very happy with both.

ZT300 has half titanium handle (pretty thick piece of titanium) and better steel. Handle is 3D shaped which
require more effort on Titanium.

Thanks, Vassili.

Thanks a bunch for the info and the picture was very helpful Vassili, but now I dont know what to get..I was hoping the 0300 was thicker so I could jutsify it...now I want both! Is the lockup that much better on the 0300? I know this is odd but has anyone chopping with either, would 0300 fair better due to more steel?

hmm, i think ill get the 0300 or 0302 if i can find one thats not super overpriced. im also just bought a spec bump so i think that would be a good substitute for the 0200. Thanks a lot guys! You have been very helpful, im glad i signed up here :)

Now i need a Busse and maybe a RAT too...uh oh its started again...

so i got a 0300...its on the way!!! i liked the 0302 also but i didnt want to wait and got the 0300 right away, about the same price anyway.

thanks everyone, TJ

Just got it!!! Its great!:D Ok so.....i spent 900 dollars on knives...:eek:i got a Kershaw spec bump, ZT 0300, Benchmade Rukus, cold steel GI tanto and a Busse Combat fat fusion battle mistress...and i love them all!!!:o

The spec bump and the 0300 are similar yet compliment each other with their differences. both all black coated and good lockup, 0300 fat and wide/spec bump long and sleek. But the 0300 feels so damn tuff! NO blade play at all. It feels like i can chop wood with it, if you can afford it and like its style buy it. Its real huge tho so keep that in mind if your used to small knives.

The worst part of my knife orgy is, that now its over...i still want more...maybe in two or three years when i can afford knives again..
