Well I thought a SAK would cure my desire for a slipjoint. But it feels a little fat in my hand. So while it's a cool knife, pulling it out to open a bottle of wine is sure to impress the ladies. A small part of me still hankers for a nice slim handled slipjoint with one or two blades.

I have a little bit of a pocket knife collection. Getting my first SAK since childhood reminded me how stiff they are too open, especially compared to my other pocket knives. Are the $100 level slipjoints a lot smoother than a SAK?

Try an Alox SAK with only a few tools, some of them are very thin.

Here are a few Alox SAKs that are pretty thin.

Don't get me wrong I like the SAK I bought, a Climber. But in a one to three blade knife I'd prefer the old timey western look of a S&M or similar slipjoint.

Victorinox SAKs are some of the smoothest opening slipjoints in the factory knife market. The springs may be stronger than necessary at first, but they're always polished and smooth.

Get yourself a Queen slippie in D2 or 1095. Then you will have a smooth good looking folder with very good blade steel.
