I was lucky enough to just receive an older Camillus manufactured BK-7. Anyhow, I did a detailed comparison between it and the RC-6 in W&SS that can be accessed here:

Note, I haven't had the BK-7 long enough to compare performance attributes of it yet. However, I do have high expectations for this blade. I like both knives. You guys of course know that I'm going to like the RC-6 better and I do, but personally I'd be happy of having either one on my out in the wilds!

I've noticed that a lot of us post in the RAT and Becker sub-forums.

I think most people here love both.

They are both very solid rough use bushcrafting/survival knives and come at reasonable prices. They fill a similar niche so of course they will interest the same crowd.

I own a ka-bar 7 and RC-6. I agree with almost all of your review kgd. Both are great knives, but the 6 is just more "polished". The one exception is the sheath on the 7. I really did not like it. Mine rattled around and I had to cut a piece of foam out and jam it down the insert so it didnt rattle so much. I did get a kydex sheath made from Eric at On scene tactical that I am very happy with.
I think this size knife is my favorite as I can do anything with it. But to be honest, I carry more than one knife when I go outside so this might be a moot point.

I really like the BK-9. I like the Brute, too. All my Beckers except one are the older Camillus ones. But I see the Bk-7 as more of a combat knife than bushcraft/survival. I much prefer the Ont RAT-7, the Ranger RD6, RD7, and the RC-6 to the BK-7.

I think than an RC-6, and Izula (or RC-3), and an RTAK II or something bigger like that would be an awesome do everything you could possibly need to do with a knife type of set up. That is, if you're willing to carry three knives! Great posts!

Nice comparison. I had been looking at the two of them and thinking they were very similiar. I didn't realize the Becker had more blade length. Hearing the way Jeff talks about the RC6 makes me want to try it out though.
