I have been trying to decide between the OD1 and the Skyline. So what are your thoughts on both of them. How smooth do they flip, what would you use them for, etc. How are they compared to the Leek(which I already have)?
Thanks.

I like them both, but the OD-1 gets more pocket time. I wouldn't say it 'flips' better than the Skyline
as they both open very differently.
I use them for low-end tasks such as cutting packaging tape, labels etc..
Compared to the Leek, the OD-1 looks like it's brother. About the same weight,
a little thicker  and easier to grip because of the G-10.
The Skyline on the other hand is very light in the hand and even less in the pocket.
You really can't tell it's there. It's blade shape is perfect in the kitchen for use as a paring knife.
Both Made in the USA and very economically priced, it's hard to pick.
So as our sub-forum motto states. "Buy both!" :D

played with both and bought the skyline..
its one of the smoothest production flippers ive seen. really natural, and fires almost like an A/O

Just bought the OD-1. I was trying to decide between the OD-1, Skyline, Barrage and the all-black Leek. Decided on the OD-1 and the Barrage over the Skyline and Leek for now (getting them later :p) but it was between the OD-1 and the Skyline cuz I had already made up my mind on the Barrage. I bought the OD-1 over the Skyline because it is a frame-lock (quite thick I might add) and the clean lines especially when it was open due to the 'flipper' disappears after opening the blade. The Skyline's liner lock didn't look as thick but I as I've read already here, lockup shouldn't be an issue. That plus I felt the OD-1 looked like a classier design with its simple flowing lines. Don't get me wrong, the Skyline is still cool as hell and will eventually get it but I just wanted the OD-1 more.

I can't stop flipping the OD-1. It is a very smooth and fast flipper.

If it's a paring knife you're after skip both and get the Zing. The grooved blade is amazing in the kitchen.

Just picked up an OD-1 from my local Wal-Mart today. Nice knife, as others have said, like a brother to the Leek in terms of overall size. Took me a while to figure out how to work the flipper (stood there looking stupid while the girl in the sporting goods section watched me). Turns out I was gripping the body too hard and pushing the frame-lock against the blade. Once I readjusted my grip, it flipped great. So, only downside to the OD-1 is that I have to pay close attention to how I hold it if I want it to flip smoothly.

I may go back and check out the Zing and the Skyline next week.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. The OD-1 is a great knife and is perfect for EDC. Not to mention, it looks nice then the others, has great blade steel, and is a framelock made in the USA. Id go for the OD-1 every time. Im just waiting now for the Ti/ZDP or something of the sort and I'll be having that one too.
