Comparison photos of Sage vs. Cat vs. Dragonfly? Anyone?

Can anyone here provide any photos which would show the comparison of any or all of these knives? Open - and hopefully - closed as well?

I have the Sage, and I'm considering either the Cat or the Dragonfly as a more compact companion for EDC use.

If I could see these knives laid out side by side, that would help so much. Thank you, in advance.

I'm a bit snowed under at work, and my night pictures suck, but I can put together some shots of a Sage I, a Cat second and an FRN Dragonfly tomorrow.

yablanowitz.... awesome! Thank you. I'm sure many others here will appreciate seeing the comparison as much as I will.

I got the pix shot at lunch, but I didn't have time to post them. Here they are. Left to right: Chicago, SS Dragonfly, FRN Dragonfly, Cat and Sage I.

Added that last one to give you an idea of the clipped carry ride height.

yablanowitz.... thank you so much! Fantastic comparison pics. Really gives a great perspective on how they stack up.

Having a Sage 1, I decided to skip over the Cat and go to the G10 Dragonfly for my smaller EDC knife, but I'm sure I'll be adding a Cat at some point before too long. I felt I wanted to go a bit farther down the scale from the Sage than the Cat.

How would you rate the comparison of fit, finish, & build quality of the Taiwan-built Cat & Chicago vs. the Japan-built Dragonflys?

Thanks again for your effort to put this together by request!

P.S. Super pic of that cute little pup, BTW. Looks like a Peke.?

I'm in no position to compare the fit and finish as both my Cat and Chicago are $10 factory seconds, so both obviously have issues. I've never handled a specimen of either model that has passed quality control, so I really can't say. All I can say is I easily found the flaws that made them seconds, but I still don't know why that SS Dragonfly was a second.

The pup is Fluffy, Destroyer of Worlds. Be Afraid. Be VERY Afraid.

Seriously, it's a picture I swiped off the net and cropped for an avatar. I though he was cute, too.

Understood. Thanks again for the great comparison shots.

I find the fit and finish of my dragonflies and sage are better than my cat.

Hey ZD Hart, this is totally off topic but just wanted to let you know I've stolen your Plato quote! It's a really good one and something I try to live my life by.

Cheers!

Glad you like it. When I first found the quote, I started thinking about people I knew in my life and sure enough, pretty much every one of them was struggling with something difficult in their life (work-related, relationship, finances, family, health, etc.), some with some very significant difficulties that would not be apparent to anyone who did not know them well. It's a good quote to live by. I found the quote on a title screen of a really good movie and now, years later, I can't remember the name of the movie, dang it.

I understand from Gramps, another forum member, that the quote my profile shows is believed not to be from Plato, but to be paraphrased from 'Be kind, for everyone is fighting a hard battle,' attributed to the theologian John Watson (1850-1907), writing under the pseudonym Ian Maclaren. Thanks Gramps for the clarification.

In any event, the essence carries great merit.

One takes a day of vacation at the proper time and drives 400 miles to Golden, CO. Then one gets up at 4:00 a.m. to wait in line in the sub-freezing cold for a few hours until the Spyderco Factory Outlet opens for their annual seconds sale. Then one gets in early enough to beat everyone else to the trays of Cats and Chicagos.

At least, that's how I went about it. ;)

Seriously, there were a bunch of them at the last seconds sale back in November, but you never know until you walk in just what they will have. I spent a bundle at that sale.
