Wondering if I could get someone to post some pictures comparing the ESEE 4 and the Ratmandu. I have and love ESEEs, the 4 being my most used knife in general, but I'm thinking about getting a Ratmandu. I'd love to see those two compared mainly, but others would be most welcome. hope this is the right spot for this, thanks.

I am familiar with the size of the RMD and I found that thread (via the search function). Referring to my original post you will find that I was requesting a side by side of the RMD and ESEE 4, sans summary invective. thanks.

What invective? What mention of "side by side" in your original post? You asked for "some pictures comparing the ESEE 4 and the Ratmandu", the link supplies that. If you were asking for a comparative review of the two knives, those are also available via the same search procedures. You would like a new/different review or different photographs? I wish i could help with that but I no longer own an ESEE-4 (other knives were more comfortable in my hands, including the RMD, and the smaller ESEE-4 just wasn't getting used *shrug*). IMHO, one really needs to hold & use each tool personally to decide which is 'better'. I hope that you do get what you are asking for, whatever that may be, and that you learn to be more specific in your requests and also more polite in the process. As a further measure of assistance, why don't you try posting this thread in the Swamp Rat subforum? You many find a plethora of RMD and ESEE-4 owners there who can accommodate your request.

Put sone TKC scales onto the ESSE/RC4 and its transformed into another knife and quite comfortable to those w/bigger paws. I have both and both are quite nice, I'll try to post some comparison pics of both as well one or two w/TKC scales which add around a 1/2" handle length.

In fact TKC now sells RC-4's with the TKC custom scales already installed. I put a set of Camo scales on my DT RC-4, and it really transformed the knife as you say, and yes I do have large hands.

excellent, thank you. sorry for being a dick.

No worries, and thank you for the apology  I really do hope you find what you are looking for, which is another reason for this reply - just bumping the thread to the top again ;)

Somebody out there must own both, right?

ya, I'm trying to up the size of my belt knife. right now my kits edged tools are mora #1, esee 4 and husqavarna forest axe. which is a good combo and works well for me, but I was thinking for food prep and batoning around the fire at night it would be nice to have something with a 5 or 6 inch blade. plus I'm just looking for an excuse to but a swamprat haha. I just want to see the ESEE 4 and RMD compared so I can get a feel for how much more steel I'll be lugging around. I think I'm going to go back to an ESEE 3 for dog walks and light hikes, especially being around the urban areas once again . thanks for the replies all.

Actually, just remembered I have a pic but not just of the two, but you can probably get the idea. From top to bottom, RC-5 (ESEE 5), Ratmandu, Scrap yard Wardog, BRKT Bravo-1, RC-4 (ESEE 4) w/TKC Camo scales.
