Whenever I want to compare 2 knives I usually just go to google and type "_____ vs. _____" but for these two there is no comments and only two photos (when's the last time google has only returned 2 results, 1998?!)

Can anyone who has owned both give me their perspective, strengths/weaknesses of both, your general ideas what one you liked better. I know they're not exactly direct competition and they're quite different spec'd and price'd so generalizations would be perfect.

(Surfingringo if you happen to have owned a BM710 at any point I'd really value your opinion of it vs. your modified pacific)

Pictures would also be appreciated eapecially comparing handle & blade thickness.

Thanks!

Haha, I was reading the thread but wasn't expecting a shout out! :). Man, I wish I could tell you more about the 710. I have handled one but never owned one. The pacific salt?? You've already read most of my thoughts on that one. But let me ask you a question. Are you looking only for a plain edge? If so, then I would get the 710. I just don't think the salt knives are worth the sacrifice in edge retention on the plain edge versions. (Unless of course you are actually using them in/around salty corrosive environments).

But I cannot in good conscience leave it at that. My strong recommendation is that you spend $75 and get yourself a fully serrated pacific salt! Spydercos serrations are awesome. H1 holds a great edge in se. It sharpens easily and takes a razor edge! You might be surprised if you actually give se h1 a try. It makes for a great edc! Let me put it this way...the serrated pacific salt kicked a green paramilitary 2 out of my pocket. Read that last sentence again.

It's $75 to try it, and even if you don't fall in love with it like I did, you will appreciate having a good se folder in your lineup.

P.S. Don't forget to do the regrind. Very simple and essential IMHO. I couldn't love the knife until I ground that fat tip off of it, but that changed everything.

I don't have a Pacific Salt, but it is very similar in size to the Endura4. Exact same cutting edge length, but the Pacific is 1mm longer overall. When closed, the Endura4 is 3mm longer. Same blade thickness, and the Endura4 is a little bit heavier (probably due to it having liners).

Comparing the 710 and Endura4, the two are the exact same length closed, and the 710 is a little longer when open. The 710 has a longer blade and a slight recurve. Both have the same blade thickness (3mm) and taper down to about the same thickness at the tip. Granted. my Endura4 is FFG, so the saber grind (like on the Pacific) should be a bit thicker.

Carry-wise, the 710 is slimmer and rides more comfortably in pocket. In hand, though, the ergos on the Endura4 fit me much better. Between the two, I find myself going for the Endura4 far more often than the 710.

Some side-by-sides. Again, these are with an Endura4 FFG, not the Pacific Salt. The two are very similar in size and spec though.
