Hello all! I am considering ordering an Anniversary Straight Handle Battle Mistress. I cannot decide between LE and CG.

Primarily those of you that have one, if you wouldn't mind posting a pic with comparison in the sizes to some of your other bussekin blades, I would appreciate it.

I am very familiar with the NMSFNO and ASH, and most of the scrapyard / swamp rat offerings.

Any help would be appreciated as I get a better idea on the size of this thing. It seems like it is a beast.

Just get one of each! :)

Seriously, if you want a beater, get the CG. If you want a classy looker, get the LE. And beat on it.

If RobStanley tells you to get the CG -- you better get it ;-) --- No but in all seriousness if you want to abuse it the CG is begging to be manhandled. The LE is just perfect as a show piece --- but hey I would beat an LE too so i dunno

I got a 1/300 w choil and a cg no choil. I may throw the cg in the safe because I enjoy usin the pretty one so much.
Get the le. You only live once.

I lean toward a satin blade (LE or otherwise) on a small to medium sized knife -- say up to six (ASH-1) or seven (SFNO LE) inches. There's nothing like satin for looks and easy cleaning. For a large chopper, I would think CG would be the way to go. The knife is going to get beat on, scratched, dinged, and wet, so the extra protection of the coating and lower price are advantages. Of course, Rob's ASHBM LE looks so damn good that none of this matters!

What I want to know is if I already have a NMFSH (double cut) do I NEED a ASHBM ... or three ;-)

Gress, that helps a lot.

jball1125 that will definitely help, I have a very good grip on the size of the 1311.

The LE is just an absolutely beautiful, smooth as glass blade. When you hold it in your hand you'll be elated that you forked over a few more smackers. The major bling factor will have people wanting to buy the bowie off of you! Jerry vaulted this one out of the park this time.

Now that I have my LE, I really really want a CG. Not because I don't like the LE or because I'm afraid to use it... but because I want two of these things and I'm not sure I can afford another LE this close to Christmas. ;)

Whichever you decide on, get one. Really awesome blade.

My guess is I'll end up with one of each.
