Comparison SAR3 vs. Game Warden?

So I'm new to Busse and snagged a SAR3LE because I thought it looked like exactly what I wanted for an EDC (didn't know there would be a run of SE's, probably swap for one of those since it's gonna be a user) and I've been dying to try infi. Well after seeing comparison pics, i'm starting to wonder if the Game Warden wouldn't be a better choice for extended use (smoother more rounded handle)? The texture is pretty aggressive on the SAR and I'm thinking there will be some pretty bad hot-spots... wondering if I should trade my LE for a GW if I could... Would love it if a hog who has both could chime in with their thoughts... wanna know before I either swap the LE for an SE (waiting for blue g10) or start carrying the LE. Thanks!

I appreciate the link, I've seen the pics - I was looking more for personal insight from use of each knife

Just interested - what number SAR-3 LE? And what would you be looking for in a GW - blade thickness, blade finish, handle slabs, there's lot of variety from which to choose...
Best Wishes,

While I think the SAR3 is the perfect EDC, I will agree about the hot spots. I actually noticed that yesterday after only a few minutes of handling. The end of the slab near the lanyard hole along the upper spine comes to a 90* angle almost perpendicular to the tang. I can already feel it jabbing me in the heel of my hand when I grip with almost any grip. I love the texture of the rest of the handle, but it would be nicer if the butt end of the slab curved in to the tang. Either that, or the slabs should get slimmer as they reach the back end.

SAR is #6. thinner is better but open, Satin, blue or orange preferable but open

If it's going to be a user, i'd recommend a little handle smoothing on your own.

Probably would do this if I traded for an SE... doesn't feel right on an LE

I love the orange, would prefer BLUE!

+1 fully agree

Suggest you look for an OJ Warden - it's a thin .140 satin blade with blaze orange G10 slabs - a great advantage if you lay your knife down in the woods or anywhere else, then need to find it again quickly. I had one a couple years ago and I regret that I ever let it go. You can still find one now and then, but it will take persistence and perhaps some good-natured HOG help. Ask around.
Good Hunting,

Perhaps I could find someone willing to trade the LE for a Warden? worth a shot!
