Can anyone provide me with informed imput on these two tactical folders? They both look like fantastic knives, but if you had to choose one to purchase which would it be???

I agree with RR completely. I also have owned knives from both. The ATCF is the clear winner.

I have to agree with the other posts. I have an all titanium ATCF and Warhead #003 ( the cover knife from the September 1997 issue of Blade.) While I really like the Warhead, the ATCF is overall a more heavy duty knife with a better lockup.

Hi Pitbull,

Acutally, the TTF3-A would be closer in size to the Warhead. I like both, and both would stand up well.

I think why everyone is recommending the ATCF (the TTF3-A is the same knife 25% smaller) is the egronomics on the knife. It is more comfortable in the hand.

However, Greg's knives are getting better all the time in that aspect.

One advantage the Lightfoot has is that he uses BG-42 for his blades.

The good news is that I have one of each of these in stock!

Please excuse the overt commericalism of the last sentence.

Les brought up a good point - they are both top class tactical folders. Terzuola's folders are just a little better. If possible, get both if you can (one now, one later) and see for yourself.

Ron makes an excellent point!

Buy two, they are small!

ATCF. I have a CF/titanium that I bought from Les last year and am extremely satisfied with it. I really like Lightfoot's work, but for me Bob Terzuola's extensive experience with the ATCF sells it. The ATCF is THE classic tactical custom folder.

Chris,

You may be right about the ATCF being the "classic tactical folder". Bob did his homework on this one.

He sought out the experts for their advice on what is a tactical folder. He acknowledges those two individuals in the front of his new book.

I've been carrying an ATCF with Ironwood handles everyday since the NY Show last Nov. except for the week it was away getting a pocket clip put on. It has done everything I've asked of it and looked darn good doing it.

The ATCF is like a 1911. You can always go for the latest and greatest, but this knife just feels "right" every time you pick it up.

Les,

You're right, Bob has definitely done his homework on all his knives.

Hear that! I picked up an ATCF at the Blade Show West and it's been my constant companion. Also looks good next to my custom Colt. The CLEAR WINNER

After carrying and using several customs from various makers, I finally selected my ATCF as my daily carry. It has all the features I want in a folder, and it looks great.
