I would like to know if super white or super blue will forge well with 15n20 or another steel for pattern welded Damascus?
I have been using 1080, 1084, 1095 and w2 with great success. Just wondering if going with some super steel might ‘raise my game’ a bit.

Both will work fine with 15n20, won’t be that much different than 1095 or W2. It will require a fast quench like parks 50.

Personally I would probably do a san mai with your normal Damascus as the outside layers and use a super white or super blue as a core (I'm planning on doing something similar with 26c3)

The feedback is appreciated. Would the heat treating be similar to 1095? Soak times, thermal cycles, tempering etc?
I am now committed to getting some and trying it out! What’s the worst thing that can happen? Maybe my pile of fails gets a little bit bigger, lol

Mooniesdl3 has good advise.
Make some 1080 and 15N20 damascus around 60-100 layers. Use it to make san-mai with the aogami or shirogami. This is called suminagashi. It makes a much better blade than all damascus. Do the HT for the core blue/white paper steel.

You would follow the heat treatment regimen for the core material.
