Greetings everyone!
I recently made a competition chopper from O1 tool steel.
The blade is hardened to 58-59 hrc and then I softened up the spine. Handle is rock patterned g10 with orange liners. Sheath out of kydex with a molle lok attachment.
The blade was dipped in ferric chloride and then tumbled manually
. Since I knew that the competition would have soft and hard targets as usual, I did a compound sharpening with three different sharpening angles on three portions of the cutting edge each one meant for different types of targets.
The blade came first in the competition with no damage whatsoever which was very pleasing.
Thanks for looking and feel free to ask any questions or comments about the knife.
