This knife is based on the pattern I use in the Competition in Atlanta. It has a 10 inch blade of 5160 with an OAL of 15 inches. The fittings are Stainless with a little pure silver inlayed into the butt of the Walnut handle. This is #1 of a limited number of 10 that I am offering. Thanks, Lin

Somehow the photo has spots on the blade. The original that Chuck Ward took was nice and clean. I guess its digital dust. Flava restored my mess up. Thanks, Lin

Great looking knife Lin - and a terrific idea doing a limited run. The decorative inlay in the butt cap is a nice touch. A couple questions:

1) Will each knife have a walnut handle or will different types of wood be offered?

2) What is the thickness of the blade at the guard?

Guys I have to be honest here. I have asked the opinion (about the wood) of someone who is more experienced on this sort of thing. I havent thought about offering it in another wood. I guess I had some preconcieved idea that it had to be the same as the original (walnut), since its a limited edition. What do you guys think?
I might mention that some of the hard woods are going to be very tough to inlay the butt. I do harden the Walnut on one of the final stages of finishing.
Its a good question and I would appreciate the input. Lin

Don thats digital dust.:D Really, I just edited the photo with a clean version. In Chuck Ward's defense, the original photos do not have the spots on it. I cant explain it. Flava cleaned it up while I was wringin my hands. :)

Also I have decided that I would prefer to use Walnut on all the knives that are numbered. If someone wanted to use another wood, we can talk about it. Lin

Just wanted to say that the knife arrived today. It's really well made: absolutely symmetric grinds, excellent fit and finish, good balance. The handle fits my hand perfectly. It came with a beautiful Kenny Rowe sheath. Lin is a pleasure to deal with and sure knows what he's doing  :D

Very nice Lin. The handle looks like it will be very confortable in your hand.
Nice finish also.

Thanks Flava. It was a real pleasure working with you. :) I look forward to seeing photos of you using the knife. :D Lin

I did a bit of wood chopping today. Went for a very dry 1 1/4" x 8" plank I had in the garage.

after a few cuts...

The wife agrees to come in the garage and take some pics. She declared I was crazy to scratch my shiny new knife though ;)
You may admire my technique. :D

While I rest I explain to her that I started the cut too narrow.

and I go ahead to correct that:

almost done ...

DONE!

The knife performs great, the handle is perfect in hand during usage. Zero damage to the edge, and it still shaves hair. I'm impressed how well the finish held, only a few tiny scratches after I cleaned it up.

Man, I just love the contours on the handle and how it flows into the guard. Great job!

Wow! Talk about pressure! Can I breath now? :o

I am happy (relieved) that it is performing so well. Of course I test my knives, but it would be my luck that just when everyone is watching the blade would probably fall off!:D

I actually used this one in the Fall Hammer In in Old Washington. I did'nt score very well, but its not the knife's fault.

Nice photos and great job of cutting Flava!:) Lin

wow. thanks for the pics. Nice too see a blade in action and I hope you do well in the cutting comp.
