Competition finish TGLB - whom to contact?

Hello all,

Quick question - I'd like to order a Team Gemini Light Brigade, but with a competition finish (basically uncoated). Whom do I contact about this? Is this something I should be contacting Busse Custom Shop for? I sent an email to the main Busse website's email on Tuesday (bussecombat@toast.net), but haven't heard back yet. Although this could be an issue with my own email misbehaving, I know there was an outage/problem of some sort last week, so I'll try again this week with a new email address.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to ordering Busse knives, this would be my first one.

And does anyone know, at least ballpark figure, how much more competition finish costs compared to the standard coated version? Thanks!

Email or phone, as mentioned above. It's a standard option, just not listed on the website. There's no added cost for it.

I just called Pokey and Lexi.

Thanks very much, I'll try those. That pic (metallic blade, black handle) is pretty much what I had in mind as well.

That's Competition Finish with black G10. The finish is no extra charge because they skip the coating process. The G10 is extra though. Keep in mind with the CF you will see tooling marks but, they look awesome!

I ordered one with black canvas for the better grip. I just called Lexi and received it a couple weeks ago. Great all around knife.

Is competition finish the same as double cut?

And I assume they are just media blasted?

No, it's not blasted at all. It's basically no finish. I am not sure if there is any actual step that is different, or perhaps something that they do to the blade prior to coating.

Oh and welcome back. Haven't seen you around in a while.

Actually my comp finished TGLB has a bead blasted finish along the spine but other than that, the rest of the blade is bare.

Thanks guys, i thought the competition and DC, were just different names for the same thing.

SO there is a charge for double cut, but the competition finish is a free option?

I do not believe double cut is an option for the TGLB nor is plain satin. Not sure why.
