I know some of you are making knives for to compete on the 19th, just before the show. Some have shown photos of their comp knives in other threads, but I'd like to see them in their own thread. Only a week or so, so let's get em made and tested. Add photos of the testing if you can please. Thanks!

Looking forward to it.

Here's mine. The last competition, I used a Damascus D guard and it did fine. This time, I am trying a rough forged Integral Riveted Frame (IRF)......just kidding) handle that I have been experimenting with. This one is 80crv2 steel. All one piece.

Magnific Lin , congrats

Been tearing up 2×4's, ping pong balls, rope, straws and water bottles with mine...1075 blade with hamon, stainless guard with thong hole in the top lug, bog oak handle. Really looking forward to the competition! They are always so much fun!

I got word that Joel Worley will be competing. Maybe he will post a picture of his knife soon.

BTW, there will be a "Performance Bowie Award" presented early that evening (19th) from among the Bowies used in the competition.

Pass the word and keep em coming please. Thanks.

Don't look like I know how to get the pic posted on here.
If the pic came through, it is made from 52100, some Scagel bronze from Bill Scagels shop, sambar stag crown for the handle. Did a little chopping and found out I am not near as strong as I may need to be. But, it is fun to play.

Years ago at the Batson Symposium, Doc Jim Lucy donated a bar of the Naval bronze that was in William Scagels knife shop. I have used it sparingly. :) It is 4/10" thick so you can sculpt the guard some. It is pretty hard and doesn't scuff easily.

This is gonna be soooo much fun! Gonna be great to see these knives cut:)

I plan on cutting with this one Lin. Here's the specs
Forged 52100 ball bearing steel
Copper guard, pommel and finial
Fileworked copper spacer
Coined Nickel Silver spacers
Sambar Stag handle

All my testing has been done on camera. The videos are on my Facebook Group. Feel free to check them out. I've hacked boards, bottles and antler. I plan on having fun at this event!
