I have a complaint about this forum. I realized too late that khukuris were addictive, and now am deep in the depths of an addiction that developed into HIKV. However, I was not aware that the HI forum itself was just as dangerous!! I now suffer from HIKV and its just as deadly cousin HIFV! The HIFV is just as bad because it aggravates the HIKV everytime Uncle Bill posts info on new shipments! I fear that I'm in serious trouble from here on out

Did you figure that one out all by yourself?

Aha: denial can no longer be maintained; you are one sick puppy ( trust me, I'm a professional in addictions* - ROTFLMAO and I can't get up! ). Rusty.

*I've also qualified as Preliminary Hearing Officer to conduct parole revocations, am a certified Parole and Probation instructor, have conducted 500+ investigations... hey, when you're the only guy covering an area about a fifth of the state, you learn to be versatile. LOL. As I've said, I may not be able to tell the Judge it's a duck, but I can tell him it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, and persuade him to subpoena the fish and game officer.

And as a matter of fact I am used to visiting people in locked-down units now that you ask.
Have fun.

Rob, realistically, things will settle down in time, so you might as well enjoy it.

Hey I think it's right for you to warn, but please don't do. Or HI and HI forum will get designated as a biohazard level 4! Id est: no khukuris out, no posts in. Then how do you live rest of your life without both?

I believe that if a suffer is shared by more people it will lesser its pain.

I think maybe you're right wrongfriend, at least we have this support group to help us

. Its one disease I don't really want to
cure. Definitely don't want them calling in the guys in the biohazard suits everytime a Khuk comes into the airport!! Ha Ha!

seriously though, do you ever have trouble getting knives sent to you in Japan--especially giant khukuris?

Hey MauiRob,
These Khukuris are addicting! I always liked edge weapons/tools and since the Khukuris are cheaper than traditional Katanas, I can buy more. Other types of swords also interest me, but at times I can't carry a sword around. The Khukuri could fit into a large back pack, but cuts like a larger sword. Each model is different and has a life energy of its own. A plus side, is that each Khukuri we buy, helps the Kamis back in Nepal live a better life!

Broken Arrow,
Good point! I was interested in buying a katana at one point (I will someday, when I have more money and can study Kenjutsu), but price was too high. You're right, there is alot more to these blades than just their functionality and good looks--they have spirit, and knowing where they come from, and who made them/benefits from their sale, makes them more special still. I also collect and play australian aboriginal didgeridoos (or Yidakis, in aboriginal languages). It is a very similar thing with didg.s, because they have incredible spirit and energy, and each one has its own unique sound. They also draw you into learning more about the aborigines and thier culture/ economic and social status, which in alot of cases is not too good. So, like buying Khukuris from HI, you can feel good about helping an art form and its makers thrive.
