In August when I first joined the fun here on this forum, one of my early threads asked for recommendations on knives of different sizes for various chores. I didn't follow it exactly for various reasons--availability, cost, etc.--but right now I'm pretty satisfied with what I have :rapture: and it's finally time to go out and get these dirty.

Ladies and gentlehogs, I present to you my first INFI series, tanker gray on blue-black G10... I had a naval battleship in mind when I ordered the Boss Jack from Busse. I need a name for this--orange & black pumpkins shouldn't have all the fun

Now onto my second series, satin and desert ironwood... I got a Boss Jack like that on order with Garth. Gonna get a CABS, maybe NMSFNO, and either an FFBM or NMFBM too but I have some details to work out first, maybe some of you can help answer these:
1. If I already own a knife and I send it in to be modified, does it go through the custom shop and get the custom shop stamp and all? Or is that only reserved from knives originating from the CS?
2. Is customizing/special ordering a current production model less expensive than doing so to a discontinued model? I remember hearing $100 per inch of custom INFI, but that custom Boss Jack got quoted at under $500.
3. Chopper: FFBM or NMFBM? :D Was almost definitely going to order an NMFBM, but that's twice in one day already I've heard that the FFBM is more practical.
4. So is $100 per inch on discontinued models true? That has me hesitant about ordering a custom Battle Mistress  I would call and ask but they are closed for the weekend and I am anxious.
5. 0.25", 0.28", 0.32"... the differences seem so small. Do they make my chopping experience much better? Endurance vs... power/durability/weight?

Chuddy Bear sheaths coming before Christmas, I hope :) Thanks for taking a look!

Although the CGBM is actually the darker "Urban Gray", this is the one that got me into the TG and away from the black crinkle when the TG was introduced.

Answers... (Disclaimer: I don't work for Busse, and as always, I could be way wrong!)

1. Best answered by Amy, but I believe that it would if it was to be reground. My Gladius above was a custom coating request, but does not have the CS logo.
2. My guess is yes... If they have the blank already on hand, it cost them a lot less than to either get it created or to mofify (grind) another blank to suit your order.
3. My opinion is that of the 2, the FFBM is more practical. However, this is just my opinion, and yours and others' may vary. :)
4. This would best be answered by Amy, Garth, or Jerry. :)
5. Gonna be a big difference between the .25 and the .32 inch versions. I can say that Guyon has repeatedly stated that the 2007 SE FFBM is a favorite of his and that one is .27". I'd say that the middle size would probably be a great compromise between raw chopping power and endurance.

 NO WAY, MAN! That's exactly what I want! I can't tell if that's a real picture of it's a PhotoShop--the edge of the wood looks weird near the pommel. Regardless, you're right... I like what I'm seeing already.

Thanks for the answers. I e-mailed them a couple days ago and haven't gotten a reply yet, just getting anxious 'cause I want to get some orders placed.

If I ever meet you, I may have to force that Gladius from your hands somehow!

There is a little chopping done with that pic... I "chopped" the knife out of a larger pic I took for a comparison request. This one and the hollow ground BOSS Street below it were both scores from the Great Easton Travelling Trough Show II last December. :)

...And if you do meet me and manage to force my Gladius from my hands, what will I use against the zombie horde??? :D:D
