Hey guys,
I just thought some of you may find this cool and may want to try it when they are looking for a new rainy day project. It is a balsa wood (which a just like better than leather) strop set. I have a base with a magnetic surface along with a series of balsa strops also with a magnetic bottom so I can switch around with ease and takes up a lot less room. Made from just the things you can get at your local craft shop. Enjoy and be inspired!

Very cool! Just curious, what grit do you prefer for prepping the balsa?

Usually 1000 and higher for the finer stropping pastes. I go with higher grits even for my lower micron pastes so I know I am getting the grit of the paste and nothing too much from the wood. Its just a practice of theory and it works for me so it's just my 2 cents

Nice idea and well executed!

Does the magnetic backing come in square sheets?
I'm going to have to check my local craft store for this type of magnetic backing. Just hope they have the correct sizing?
