Long story short: About a month or so ago I finally got the chance to buy my first Submariner, and wasn’t expecting any financial hits of much significance. I knew the knife buying would need to slow down, but then my fiancé got accepted into law school last week, her family can’t cover it, so it appears that I will be selling most if not all of my knife collection (and possibly the watch too)…

Some, I know are grails but am not positive on what I should be seeking price wise for them. Obviously, every dollar will make a difference for the tuition, but I also want to make sure that they are priced fairly. In some instances, I have some wiggle room, but I’d like to stay close to my cost. Please take a look and if you can offer any guidance on pricing, I’d greatly appreciate it before I officially list them for sale in the For Sale Forum.

And yes, we have an agreement that once she’s a lawyer she will purchase many knives for me haha.

ALL OF THE KNIVES BELOW HAVE THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS, BOXES, PARTS, ETC. The documents have all been placed inside of “post card collection protective PVC sleeves” to protect them from bends, tears, stains, etc.

In order of oldest to youngest…
  1. Chris Reeve/Wilson Combat Umnumzaan (Small Logo). Blade is S35VN, 58-59 RC. DOB is September 6, 2012. Complete package with original box, documents, tools, lanyard, lanyard bead, etc. Knife has original edge, and is in impressive condition. I am the second owner. Currently has a Millet CRK/WC clip on it and a J2H titanium lanyard spacer on it, machine finish. My guess is that $2,000 is the value on the knife. This was my very first CRK/WCC and I got extraordinarily lucky; I didn’t know it was a small logo – or that was even a thing – until after it had arrived. This is by far my favorite one and I assume will be the hardest to replace.
  2. Chris Reeve/Wilson Combat Small Sebenza 21 (Small Logo). Blade is S35VN, 58-59 RC. DOB is November 25, 2014. Complete package with original box, documents, tools, lanyard, bead, etc. Knife has original edge, and is in great condition. Currently has a Millet CRK clip on it and a J2H titanium lanyard spacer on it, machine finish. I am the third owner of this knife and to my surprise, again – didn’t know it was a small logo either until it had arrived. Neither did the seller – so we have a gentleman’s agreement in place that some funds will be returned to him after the sale since he was unaware of the value/significance at the time of the sale; I feel that’s only fair/right. My guess is that $1,700 is the value on the knife.
  3. Chris Reeve/Wilson Combat Large Sebenza 21. Blade is S35VN, 59-60 RC. DOB is August 21, 2018. Complete package with original box, documents, tools, lanyard, bead, etc. Knife has original edge but has been slightly polished, but otherwise is in phenomenal/original condition. Currently has a Millet CRK clip on it, and a J2H titanium lanyard spacer on it, sandblasted finish. I am the third owner. My guess is that $1,700 is the value on the knife.
  4. Chris Reeve/Wilson Combat Large Inkosi. Blade is S45VN, 60-62 RC. DOB is June 22, 2022. Complete package with original box, documents, tools, lanyard, bead, etc. Knife has original edge, and is in brand new condition. Knife has no accessories installed, nor has it ever been disassembled. I am the second owner. My guess is that $1,050 is the value on the knife.
  5. Chris Reeve/Wilson Combat Small Inkosi. Blade is S45 VN, 60-62 RC. DOB is June 23, 2023. Complete package with original box, documents, tools, lanyard, bead, etc. Knife has original edge, and is in like new condition. Currently has a clip delete and an Intrepid Damascus lanyard spacer on it. I am the second owner. My guess is that $900 is the value on the knife.
Each knife except for the large Inkosi has been disassembled and has had different clips installed and lanyard spacers. I had a second Large Inkosi and recently traded it for an Oz Machine Co Rosevelt (also available for purchase), but this one has never been taken apart or had any accessories added.

Each of these knives have been taken care of extraordinarily well – air dusted 1x weekly even haha – but for the most part they stayed in my safe, came out and got a new “accessory” installed, and then made its way back to the safe. If it was carried, it was done so in a protective case.

With that being said, I also have a TON of spacers/clips available for each of them, listed below by compatible knife.

  1. Umnumzaan Clips / Spacers :
  1. Jekyll2Hyde V1 Alumabronze lanyard spacer. Was $125 new + T&S.
  2. Jekyll2Hyde V3 Titanium (machined finish) lanyard spacer. Was $110 new + T&S.
  3. CCK “Geared” spacer. Was $80 shipped (secondary purchased).
  4. Millet CRK / WC clip. Was $65 new + T&S.
  5. Millet Timascus clip. Was $165 new + T&S.

  1. Small Sebenza 21 Clips / Spacers :
  1. Jekyll2Hyde Zirconium lanyard spacer. Was $145 new + T&S.
  2. Jekyll2Hyde Timascus lanyard spacer. Was $165 new + T&S.
  3. Millet Timascus clip. Was $165 new + T&S.
  4. Millet CRK / WC clip. Was $65 new + T&S.

  1. Large Sebenza 21 Clips / Spacers :
  1. Jekyll2Hyde Titanium (sandblast finish) lanyard spacer. Was $115 new + T&S.
  2. Jekyll2Hyde Emerald Turboglow lanyard delete spacer. Was a gift, but they are $75 new + T&S I believe.
  3. Millet CRK / WC clip. Was $65 new + T&S.

  1. Large Inkosi Clips & Spacers :
  1. Jekyll2Hyde full Length Large Inkosi lanyard spacer, machined finish. Was $200 new + T&S.
  2. Jekyll2Hyde Titanium lanyard spacer, machined finish. Was $115 new + T&S.

  1. Small Inkosi Clips & Spacers :
  1. Jekyll2Hyde Intrepid Damascus lanyard spacer. Was $145 new + T&S.

I also have five (5) Original Chris Reeve HAWK CLIPS, 1 FOR EACH KNIFE. I myself paid $125+ each for these, so I will not be able to offer them for less. I intend to list them for $150, shipped priority and insured.

There are a few random accessories, leather slips, etc that I will add to this list or most likely just include as surprise freebies once the knives sell.

Any feedback on pricing is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I apologize in advance for the numberical/spacing issues - I tried copy/pasting from my email (work wifi blocks out BladeForums) and it didn’t work out so well. Trying to revise now.

Looks like everything is in a sellable price range. Good luck with the sale!!!
If it were me, I’d look at other avenues for financing other than liquidating a collection that is rare and may not be replaceable.

I’ve been thinking about that as well. I suppose I could sell the Submariner but it took me 3 years on a waitlist to get it and I’ve only had it a month. But a Rolex is definitely easier to replace in a few years than several rare CRK’s.

Yes it is. I’d think about having regrets later on because I acted on first emotion and not rational thinking.

I also have the CRK/Pelican hard case that houses the collection with silica gel packets inside to keep moisture out. Case was $155 + T&S. I’d say it’s worth $125?

Kudos for putting your fiancee's schooling and career before your collection.

BTW: I notice you didn't mention a Wilson 25 -- does that mean you don't have one?

If it were me, I'd.. 1) wait til I was married before begrudgingly selling anything off. 2) get this part in writing (preferably notarized)- "And yes, we have an agreement that once she’s a lawyer she will purchase many knives for me haha." 😜

Nice collection!

I don’t have one - didn’t know it existed! Haha great! Now it’s not complete :(

You are talking about a lot of money, and a lot of work you have put in. The best of intentions can go south quickly between people, I know.. You should have some kind of backup , as a lawsuit later will only cost more than it's worth .Don't bet more than you're willing to loose.
