So HI brought me to this forum first off. I"ve been eyeballing a few different blades which I'm sure I will all get sooner than later. However, while looking at past threads, I saw a mini bowie that I really must have. Is this something I would need to custom order? I was/am about to pull the trigger on an AK bowie but I would like the pair. I could use the AK for my job when needed over a wicked looking kukri (might scare any passers by) and an AK is legal length to carry/conceal here in GA (12in blade).
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Glad you found us. You might send Yangdu an email, she might have some of the micro bowie's left.
I'm sure if she doesn't, there will be more available very soon.

Bhakta used to be the go to Micro Bowie guy, but he no longer works for HI. He make some from time to time for them but Kumar made the last one I got and its really good too. Actually it's my favorite of the bunch. He did a great job.
 
Welcome to the forum Jason! I have a few Bowies by HI and really like them! I believe I saw a micro by Lachhu that had the original recurve like the Bhakta's. I sure did like the looks of it. Im kinda fond of the recurved part as many are straight bladed. I guess its a personal preference. I havent seen any by Kumar but I bet it is top notch! Cant go wrong with the AK Bowie:thumbsup:

I have an AK Bowie by Kumar. It is top notch but also have 2 by Ram Kumar that I like his grip better. It feels better to the American hand. His work is top notch also!
My opinion!
 
Yeah shoot Yangdu an email and give her an idea of type, size, and weight. Each of these blades is an individual, so if you have a max carry length you are shooting for she can make sure you dont exceed it. HI actually makes quite a few smaller knives that are great in addition to the micro bowies.

You guys are great! I love every blade I've seen. I will definitely be contacting Mrs. Yangdu as suggested. I love the family atmosphere around HI within their customers. It truly is hard to find any business with the clientele loyalty and pride that I have read about HI throughout my search for a truly functional tool. Feels like I'm already a life long customer and I haven't even purchased my first blade. Choices, choices and lack of expendable funds.
