The lady was out of town so I ordered a fixed blade kit from knifekits to keep me busy. The whole thing took a lot longer than I thought because I ended up reprofiling the handle. This is the first time I've done pins with scales so the holes were a little rough, but overall I'm very happy with it and want to hear what you guys think!

Thanks! Made a sheath for her, the belt loop is a different color because it was leftover from another project.

Thanks Tex, haven't had a chance to do much with is besides slice some fruit and attempt some feathering, but it felt great. The only fixed blade I had for a while was a kabar so I'm having a lot of fun experimenting with different stuff.

And you're right about that, almost done with another kit knife I got at the same time. This one was way more of a project as I purchased it from the "boneyard specials" section which is for production screw ups mostly. I'll post it when I'm done!

Looks good better than my 1st.But now you've gone and done it! It's in your blood and you can't get rid of it.You'll have to do another one.Check the web for knife suppliers list.It will give you all kinds of sources, Best of luck to you.Did my 1st over 30 years ago.I still love it.

Way to go!

Now you are hooked. We'll be looking forward to seeing more :)

Thanks guys. And you are totally right, I'm hook. Almost finished with my second and have plans to make another for a knife exchange with my cousin this summer who forges his own stuff. Here's another pic of the blade above and one with the cold steel pipe hawk I modded. There is some left over bri was on the blade from finishing the wood, spaced on cleaning it before the pictures Opinions always welcome!

Well finals are over and summer has begun, so I got some fun work done. Finished up the second blade blank I had, a coffin handle Bowie advertised as aus-8, although I'm not sure as I've seen almost identical blanks elsewhere with simply "high grade stainless" in the description. Anyways I really liked how it turned out, wood scales are Purple Heart. The first kit knife scales were yellow heart.

I'll probably keep this thread updated with any of my new blade projects if anyone is interest.

The leopard carpet in front of my workbench it courtesy of my sister's high school taste. But in all honesty it's the first thing anyone notices when they come in and they usually dig it
