I got one of the Browning Crowell/Barker competition knives. This is one of the best production knives i've ever bought. Very well made, sharp out of the box and a fantastic chopper/camp design. I've been working it hard and it's awesome. Thanks for a beautifully executed production knife.

I wanted to add, in that picture I posted. I have some dead pines i've been working on taking down. I worked the Browning almost exclusively today limbing the trees. This knife is unbelievable. It is still sharp, held up to some serious chopping and torquing of the edge and blade. This knife has very quickly become one of my favorite outdoor blades.

Thanks for the report, Scott. I've been waiting for someone to post about this knife after using it. Glad it's a winner, because the price is right.

Scott... how's the grip on that one? Is there a palm swell? Any pics f/the top. Looks like a really handy chopper.

I agree with the positive comments about this knife. Reggie, Jim and Browning did a nice job. I collaborated with them on an article and photographs for BLADE about this knife. The article will appear sometime after the July issue. My initial review will be followed by a hard-use reveiw later in the year. Browning kindly gave me the knife in return for doing the article and I've used it a fair amount. I can't fault it in any way in fact it's hard to believe you can get such a good knife for so little money! Plus it's pre-qualified for certain ICCT cutting events, giving owners of the knife who are not makers a chance to jump into the cutting contest world. Smart move on Browning's part and top shelf design work by two bonafide World Champion cutters and custom knifemakers. Here's a few pics - click to enlarge.
