Composite blade leek - broken torsion bar

Hello - my first post, I have been a kershaw fan for a long time. I have a composite blade leek and LOVE it. I had a ZDP leek and lost it in the field after gutting a deer with it last year. The D2 seems almost as good steel wise, but I prefer the composite blade finish and looks. I think I would just about die for a composite leek with ZDP or S110V. That said, here is my question:

Are the torsion bars identical from the Leek to the Shallot?

After a few months, my CB leek developed a rattle when it was open. Today I was playing with it and heard the torsion bar snap when I pushed on the flipper on the spine. Now it does not work AO, only manually. I have a CB Shallot that I like for the blade material, but do not love it for EDC based on the size, style and weight. While I am waiting for a new torsion bar from Kershaw, can I put in the one from my shallot? I figured I would ask before I tear down 2 knives. Thanks in advance for the help!

The torsion bars are different. So no go on that.
The rattle you were hearing is normal. There's no tension on the
torsion bar when in the open position. When you get the new torsion
bar, put a little extra grease in the torsion bar cavity and it should
stop the rattle sound you hear. It doesn't cause any harm as is tho.

Wow!, that's exactly what I was going to say! Dave, why you gotta hog all the good answers all the time!?!?:p

My s60v blur makes a rattle noise, what's it mean as far as what is happening inside the knife? It's a blem so if the torsion bar breaks can I get a new torsion bar on warranty?

Rattle noise--normal, you can fix it by adding some grease in the torsion bar cavity--right now, it only rattles when open.

You can get spare parts, but if you break it, Kershaw's not replacing it. ;)

I bought a blur a couple months ago and it`s working fine so far,My question is how often do these torsion bars break?

tested for 10000 cycles. though sometimes the odd one will break. just email or call kershaw and they will send you a new one free of charge. just specify model.
