Have any of ya'll made a blade from composite (G10 or carbon fiber)?
How workable is the material and what quality is the blade?

Do you have to recoat the area where you've made your grinds?

Just a couple of Saturday a.m. questions.

Thanks,
Will

Hey Ump, do you mean making the actual blade from the composite material rather than using steel?-Guy Thomas

Yep....saw some pics of a knife with G-10 or carbon fiber handles....says he touches up the edge with a emory board.

Was wondering to the actual abilities of the material as a working blade.

I make a G-10 knife of the "Smith Infinity" designed by Steve Smith. He calls it the "One Shot Knife" It can be resharpened many times with the emery board but isnt made to cut as a steel blade will. It is for carry and self defense. It works well for its intended use.

Bruce,
Do you work it the same way you would steel?

Will the knife slash?

And do you have to coat the areas that you've ground?
