First of all, I want to say Thanks again to Thomas for this contest. It is REALLY cool to have one of these sitting on my desk right now. I'm not the best photographer and my camera is not good at focusing when zoomed in ultra close, but I hope these pics can give you guys the idea. The layer of copper that separates the CPM D2 and sandvik has got to be the best part about this new Leek IMO. You have to see it up close. I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir right now, but DO NOT hesitate when these become readily available! Pick up one or six as soon as you can;) To add a bit more, the darker matte finish of the D2 is really nice and as usual the blade was razor sharp out of the box. The blade is stamped Feb. 08, and I think it must be the first Kershaw I've ever gotten this soon after it was manufactured. Kinda neat that we're still in the month that's on the blade!!:D

Very nice job Kershaw, and a very much appreciated knife now in my collection. Thanks Thomas!!

Cheers all,

I love it! Now I would like to see the Composite blade with the random blade shape. The random is my favorite Leek. I guess I need to start saving now. I just might "NEED" ;)one of these.

+1

I agree, the Random Blade shape would be sweet! Congrats on the new blade jonnymac44!

...Couldn't agree with you more. This is one very beautiful and useful looking Leek just as it is currently being produced...but that modified tanto shape has become my EDC favorite. I have one lodged in a coarse G10 handle and it's found hundreds of uses on a daily basis and is never out of pocket or reach. The regular Leek blade shape is a wonderful EDC all by itself and with the addition of the composite construction only becomes more useful and beautiful yet. I envy greatly all you who may have one already and will wait patiently til I can make one mine. I'll have one as they are now made and will hope they include the modified tanto blade sometime in the future...Thomas, Craig and Ken...you have a winner here again...:thumbup:

I HATE BEING A POOR COLLEGE STUDENT!!!!!!!!!! yet another Kershaw on my list. simply a beautiful knife, yet again. :D :D

Congrats on the new Leek!

Looks great, and thats a nice looking collection of silver handled Leeks!

I have to concur on wanting to eventually see a composite bladed Random Leek.

We probably shouldn't ask for too much though, I think Kershaw has been managing to keep releasing the new knives at just the right pace to keep us broke, but not totally destitute. :D

That's about right.

I'm torn between a Tyrade and a composite Leek...

or maybe a JYD II/Ti...or maybe a ZT0200... Arrrrgh! too many choices!

I don't know what is cooler, having a new CB Leek or being FIRST to have one. Very nice. Thanks much for the pics, it just fuels the fire....must have CB Leek....

That IS nice, even if it is a Leek.:D.

Whatchoo talkin' bout Dann??!! Don't you go bad mouthing my Leeks, now. I have a serious Leek fetish and that condescending tone of yours is making me a little bit uneasy. Keep it up and we'll be duking it out in that OTHER forum:D

It IS pretty nice for a Leek, isn't it?;)

Jon

Look forward to getting mine soon. I have a total of four Kershaw knives. Three of them are Leeks. The other is a quince Splinter.

Yeah Spiral, I was trying not to gloat too much, but the fact that Thomas said this knife was the first one off of the production line definitely increased the wow factor when it showed up at my door today. I've got a fairly large collection of folding knives and some are very special, unique, numbered sprint runs, etc., but this one was REALLY special considering the new technology, getting one before they hit the streets, and winning it in a contest and all. Even my wife was impressed with how this knife ended up in my hands and she usually just rolls her eyes at me when I'm in my knife mode:D

Cheers,
Jon

Ah, our wives...I love my wife!

She actually shows appreciation for some of my knives, although I haven't overcome her opening/closing fears enough to convince her to carry.

However, she did actually accept a Kubo/a/ton and attached skull-decorated lanyard to carry in her purse last week along with some instruction in how to use it, which kind of blew me away. Actually, she zeroed in pretty quickly on several ways to use it...

Hmmm...I better watch out...

Oh, yeah...love the CB Leek, and sure do want one!

if you have a leek fetish, then what does NYGiantsfan have?:eek::eek:

LOL, I'm watchin' ALL of you guys!;) To be honest, haven't done much cutting with the composite Leek yet. Don't know if I will. So far, it's just so pretty that I want to keep it in my knife case and admire it. I'm sure I'll break down soon and start slicin' stuff. I'll let you guys know.

Cheers,
Jon
