I searched a few pages looking for Composite Leek info. If this has been discussed already post the thread link if you will.

Anyhoo.. Whats the verdict on the Composite Leek? Looks interesting. How is it holding up and how is the edge retention to S30V?

Pros/Cons please.

Thanks!

It seems like the CPM-D2 edge of the composite leek takes a toothier edge than s30v. I can get both hair shaving sharp quite easily on the sharpmaker, and they seem to hold an edge about the same amount of time, it seems to close to be able to tell a difference (to me at least).

The composite leek has only been out for a few weeks. I figure alot of people are like me, it will take a while for it to get into my EDC rotation. I have a Tyrade as well and it has held up well. The F&F on the Leek are fantastic and it is quite a striking look. Rest assured Kershaw isn't going to let something out the door that won't hold up.

I had just received my new CPMD2 leek but due to a few flaws that made it thru QC (burr left from the machining process on the thumb stud and the handle got hit with the belt sander during sharpening as well as the AO not catching the blade with the finger flipper.) I had to send it back. As soon as it returns and I am able to carry it for a while I will let you know how well I think it holds up.

Could you tell us where you bought it from please?

Hmmm... that doesn't sound right. Are you sure that it wasn't sharpened again once it left Kershaw factories? I know it's impossible to tell but information on the reseller could help determine where it went wrong (probabilistically anyway).

I find it difficult to see how that could slip through Kershaw's legendary QC.

Don't have the composite yet,but I love the S30V leek.Had it about a year & it's seen the most pocket time of all my folders.I love the G10 handles. It's like my own lil' pocket personal scalpel:DCarries well in the front pocket, like all leeks.Don't even know it's there.

FWIW,I'd vote for the composite strictly on the coolness/looks factor:D

No I don't know who may have handled it between me and the factory but It was not bought as a used knife.

As spiralarchitect mentioned, it's only been out a few weeks. I have one.
I haven't carried it yet(I'm having way to much fun with the RAM) but it
came flawless. Solid lockup. Blade centered and the edge was shaving
sharp. Soon as the honeymoon is over with the RAM, I'll give it some
pocket time.

Ok, mixed reviews already but my experience with Kershaw has always been very good.

Composite leek on the way!

I seriously doubt you will have any troubles. When you get it, spend a little time with it and be the first to do a full scale write up on it. We always appreciate them.
