Thomas, any chance of a composite Ram in the future. Maybe throw in some titanium handles with wood scales. That would be pretty sweet.

Dang, I am already drooling when I dream stone washed Composite Ram with Vanax 35 cutting edge... but maybe its good, I am going to buy finaly after year or 1,5 thinking the RAM... But seriously Thomas, Kershaw Composites are awesome. I miss my composite JYD II... need to buy another...

...This isn't the first time this request was made. Even Jimmer cant convince Thomas.

Would you consider an umgraded steel?
OR .... something brand new with a Hawk lock and KVT

That's called ZT 0500 MUDD now unfortunately discontinued...
Heh...very true. I'd be a fan of another Hawk Lock knife, although of course it all depends on the Hawks coming up with another design -- or modifying one of their custom designs -- that they want to collaborate with Kershaw/ZT on. Maybe a production version of the G&G Hawk RAZR with KVT (instead of the IKBS used on the custom version)? Probably not gonna happen, but it can't hurt to throw it out there... :D

Yes, but it's not a flipper;).

I really like that Hawk Lock. One thing in particular I've noticed is the ability to have a solid aluminum frame without liners(that I could see), thus making for a very light knife. It would be great to take full advantage of that fact to make a large knife that's light for its size.

Sadly, I don't think new production models would be likely given how much Kershaw has on their plate at the moment, though future models from G&G Hawk would be something I'd be willing to invest in. Just stick in a premium steel like Elmax or M390 and I'll be sold instantly.

Sounds nice...no chance I'm afraid.
Is the Ram on the chopping block this year? I know you said it was kind of slow selling a while ago. I am hoping that isn't the case for this great knife........but it has happened to others.

Gone for 2012

Packrat
Ripcord

What else do we need to start picking up before they are gone?

Yes it is disco'd for 2012

Quite a lot actually. We're finalizing the disco'd list now, and hopefully have it finished up in a few weeks.

:grumpy: I hope they aren't all made in the USA models that are getting cut.

The Chinese models are nice but...........the ones made here are great!

My guess on the cuts:
Talon 2
Random Task 2
Speedform 2
I hope not but the 3 listed above not many have been made so....
JYD :(
Blackout
Whirlwind
Groove
Baby Boa

Nerve
Oso

Plus the other 3 already confirmed.

Ram
Ripcord
Packrat

Am I close?

And all of the Autos also gone.

Zt 0400 ? I think so.

But on the bright side this should free up capacity so that the 3 missing Kershaws and the 3 missing ZTs can find some production time.

Exactly my thinking. I'm sure some good knives will be discontinued, but I'm far more excited about the ones that have been announced by haven't made it into production yet (especially the ZTs).

I've been carrying the RAM since it came out. It's still my all time favorite !
I have 2 of them and sold a third to a friend that just had to have one.
