Given the apparent popularity of the Skyline, I'm surprised you guys haven't brought out a special edition composite bladed one. Damascus is nice and all, but I'd personally love a composite blade. It doesn't have to be an exotic steel, even S30V or 154CM would do nicely with a 420 carriage or something, maybe do the handles in something nice and all purpose like forrest green or brown or maybe blue...

Anyone else feeling it?

I'd be on board for one. CPM-D2 would be a good candidate for the cutting edge; it's an excellent steel and is already used on Kershaw's other regular production composite blades.

I continue to contend that S90V, m4 or CTS-XTP would be perfect for this knife. why? because it is the perfect little edc, and putting a good steel on there would reduce the need of sharpening for a non knife person to basically nil. imagine how many boxes you could take down with a s90V skyline before it could not *gasp* shave hair!!!

I'd have to disagree, simply because the extra cost that would add to the knife -- not only for the steel itself, but for something like S90V also the extra costs associated with grinding it -- would probably take it outside the price range that a non-knife person would be willing to spend on a knife. Not to mention that if it ever did need sharpening, a non-knife person would probably have quite a bit of trouble putting a decent edge on something like S90V or even M4.

It'd be great for us knife nuts, though... :D

I would pull the trigger on one immediately. In fact I only opened this thread because I thought they might have released one. Now I'm just disappointed.

The special steel blurs sell instantly the skyline would surely sell fast due to all the skyline devotees.

I'd love one I've grown quite fond of Kershaw's composite blade steel my composite JYD II is one of the coolest knives I own.

Dammit just got the Black & Tan one, last thing my wallet needs is another Skyline I'd want.

Composite blade Skyline would be sa-weet! I recently etched my Rake for that forced patina on the D2 part of the blade, and I love the looks; I think the Skyline would be a great candidate for that treatment.

I don't find sharpening to be a problem.

How about something totally different in steel, a 1095 skyline flipper.
