Hello,
Does anyone know the composition of C70 steel, or its approximate U.S. equivalent? It is a European carbon (non-stainless) steel used by Grohmann. Thanks much --

I figured "C70" meant as much, but couldn't find any info and just wanted to check. (Yes, I emailed Grohmann and, no, they couldn't give me an answer.) Thanks Keith for the response --

It's not bad steel. Takes a decent edge, will rust, and is quite tough -- enough to baton through the pelvis of a deer with no damage. The Russell Belt Knife is a great design; I field dressed my first mule deer with one.
