compound bow? Need help ASAP

personally, i'd be wary of buying a used bow without being able to look at it first. the limbs may be cracked or some other problem might exist with the bow that you can't tell from looking at it.

in any case: Fred Bear makes some lovely bows and are widely regarded as being reliable and tough, not to mention powerful.

mine is a Bear Showdown 70lb and it's my first bow. i like it a lot, easy to shoot and rather forgiving for a nub like me.

Yea, thats the way I feel, but if I find a good deal, with alot of pics, I may have to jump on it.

ya know, ya can come up with all kinds of reasons and imagine all kinds of ways the seller could maybe rip you off. Or, you could drop the hammer on a good deal. I have bought all kinds of good stuff on ebay including Bows and never been ripped off. Had a couple deals were not as advertised, worked it out with the seller and I am happy with the deals

I'm sure I'm a little late responding. I could be wrong, but that looks like an older bow. Nothing wrong with that if its in good condition, and it fits you.
I'm not sure how to change the draw length on that particular bow. Some you change cams, some have adjustment pins on the cams and other use modules.
You may, or may not be able to get parts for it.

Whichever bow you get if its used, make sure parts are still available for it.
Otherwise, if you break a limb or need to replace a cam, and can't get the parts, you just wasted money on something you can't use or sell.
If the bow is in sound condition, I would take it to a reputable archery shop to have it tuned, and have good strings and cables installed.
Winners Choice are great, and hold up well. IIRC the last set I got 2 years ago were about 75 dollars. The last thing you want to have happen, is to draw back a compound bow and have the string come apart on you.

I was going to send you a p.m , but yours aren't set up. I suggest going to ArcheryTalk.com Its a great archery forum, and
there are lots of bows listed for sale. You can find some great buys on bows that are only 1 or 2 years old, because a lot of people on there buy a new bow every year.

NC did you buy the bow??

ill be honest with you, it would be hard for me to buy a used bow unless i bought it from a friend i trust or a bow shop..

there are many bows out there you can buy brand new without tossing the bank at it.. like diamond bows, they are the cheaper version of bowtech (made by bowtech and with their lifetime warranty).. they are affordable and very very well worth their price.. if this is a bow you plan on keeping for years to come, get one brand new that is fitted to your draw length and etc

I've owned 10 or 12 different bows. All but one were used. If you know what you are looking for, and the seller provides good pics and has a solid reputation selling, you can save a lot of money.
Its a good point though about buying a new, lower end bow. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the lower end bows.

Another good choice for new bows is Martin. They are extremely well made, outstanding customer service, and priced very fairly IMHO.
Its nice that they are still a family owned business, that really cares about the customer too...
But as you mentioned, Bowtech, Mathews (which I have been shooting for the past 6 or 7 years), all have great warranties too
