Compound for O1

For general field use a good black (silicon carbide) compound works well on 01. You can further refine it with a green chromium oxide compound, but you can easily get to hair shaving sharp with the black.
 
I always found 1 Micron diamond to do best with O1.
 
Depends on what you use leading up to it. But CBN should do well. And any diamond product of course.
 
Flexcut gold works good for me. I have a carving knife with 01 and use the gold compound on my strop to maintain sharpness. Works great and polishes it also. I hold the knife steady and run the strop across the blade like a file. Try it and see if it works for you.
