I know they are simmilar, but which one do you like and why? Compound or Tremmor?

THX

I own a tremor and it is by far one of the comfiest knives to hold with or without gloves. Though carrying it is a problem due to the weight and size of the thing, it really does feel like it needs a sheath. So if I had to pick between the two I go with a compound if it were going to be my EDC.

Honestly... neither - perhaps consider a junkyard dog or a RAKE at a good price/sale if you really like this sort of blade shape/styling.

I bought a turbulence once and was not pleased with that one either - (the liner lock is difficult to access as there is no cutout - would be very hard to close with gloves or wet hands/fingers).

I was looking at a "can't beat it at this price" kind of knife. I already own a Blur/ JYD CB/ and a Skyline.

Kershaw Echelon at a sub $40 price - the original thumbstud oval vs. the new straight cutout.
Kershaw RAM at $55 - Kershawguy

Or maybe wait for the Thermite or Swerve to come out?

Happy Hunting!

like u said if ur looking to only spend 20 bucks or so pick up a scallion blem from kershawguy

Tremmor is the best buy for the $20 and is not longer made so get it while you can.......

I've got a Compound that I picked up for a beater. The 'G10' it claimed to have on the clam-pack, isn't G10 at all, it's just polymer and is quite slick if wet. So with a little filing I added my own jimping and a little texture to the scales. It's not bad at all for a beater, size is good, weight isn't bad, and it's stupid easy to sharpen.

The Turbulence's liners must be cut different then the Compound's, because the liner lock stands proud of the scale and it easy to get to.

Never had a Tremor, but I'd imagine it's much the same only heavier.

I saw this thread and had to jump: Compound was my very first knife. I have since moved on from carrying it but I still like to look at it. To me, it has a very nice visual appeal. The handle didn't quite fit my hand. I have an Asset from the same generation of import knives and that handle feels better to me (thought I still like the look of the Compound).

It does depend on what you want it to use it for... For a smaller guy, you could go to the Asset. I think that all of the knives in that generation have the same sort of construction: FRN handles, steel liners, blade stock approximately equal to that of the Blur. The Chill is different as far as the imports go: G10, slimmer, single liner (almost like the Skyline).

If it's just about the hunt, then I like the Compound as eye candy and for use (sharpening that blade sweep is pretty easy, probably easier than the Tremor). So, happy hunting
