When the Para 2 first became available I was able to get my hands on one of the first. I immediately noticed side to side play associated with the bushing pivot and could not get over that. So I sold it and figured all Para 2's would be like this and it was a flaw.
However, I starting reading that the side play wasn't associated with ALL Para 2's, just a select number. I convinced myself to give the Para 2 another try and I am sure glad that I did. It has become one of my favorite if not most favorite production model. None of my current Para 2's have any play any direction all lock up superbly .
Not much to say about the other aspects of the Para 2 that hasn't already been said. Ergonomically it fits the hand perfectly, few match it. The Superleaf being right there with it in ergonomics. Also, I love overbuilt, strong knives, so naturally I love the compression lock. IMO, it is the strongest lock Spyderco offers and it functions perfectly in the Para 2 as well as in the Superleaf. Spyderco got it right with these 2 models IMO, they are very, very hard to beat  Excellent work Sal and Co.
