Guys my computer bit the dust last night along with a LOT of important info. I'm using an old one with a shorted out screen that I can barely see... probably will last me a day or so until it is toast too. I just paid a lot of bills and am not sure when I will be back at the computer 100%k... in the meanwhile I'll be grinding like crazy so I can!

I had just backed up my CAD files so I didn't lose my old designs... :D

Stay tuned and don't spill a coke on your laptop... they don't like it! The power light won't even turn on with it plugged in and the piece of junk was only a few months old! I never replaced that space bar so am looking forward to a new machine, lol. :D

Daniel, its not gonna be great but let me check what fallen soldiers i have at work Monday. I will send you something.

Were you using a laptop or desktop? Also what exactly bit the dust?

Edit saw laptop. Ive seen what coffee does to thise things. Gonna need new mobo at least. Not under warranty?

Sorry to hear this Daniel, you have been on a roll lately. Hope you get things sorted out and back to work but thats because you showed us what one of those framelocks looks like then tell us you can't show them off any more until you get the computer up any going again, bummer!

Just in case you don't know, you can remove your hard drive from the laptop and hook it up to another comp and get your data off it. If it was a spill that caused it to die there's a fair chance your hard drive was unaffected, its usually the motherboard and keyboard that get affect by spills. Good luck.

Hazy's right. I'm sure he'll get it all straightened out. Daniel let me know if i should look into frankensteinig something for you.

Hey Daniel, I'm new around here, but this is the first group I wanted to join when I got on BF. I'm a big fan of your work, if you need a computer I definitely have one you can have. And the girlfriend would be happy if I cleared more of the computer gear out.

Otto.

hard drive recovered! :D

I used a drive enclosure for the old drive and sure enough it is still working... along with 100% of the info on my old computer! It was so easy I'm buying more enclosures.
