Shoot!! I was looking forward to your online book. But with a 500MHz, you should be able to crank one out MUCH faster!

Tom,
Sorry to hear about your computer. Mine crashed about 6 months ago, thanks to a virus!!! I am now much wiser about computers. Its amazing how much you can learn about computers when they are broke. The furstration of a broken computer is even more amazing.

You are coming out with a book on liner locks? Do you have any idea of the release date? Or an estimated cost? Thank you for the information.

Tom,
Sorry to hear about your crash. That new system sounds like it should be great.

What is this about a book? Fill me in.

Liner lock book is a project i thought of... probably a year ago....have the outline and most of the first chapter on my dead computer in my daughters room...cost is going to be $20...about 10 chapters..in depth from three different standpoints...very few tools...a few tools, a bunch of tools (knifemaker shop)..and ray, you have it backwards...first i play with my new toy...then i get the knife done...sorry, but thats reality (actually i only play on the web at nite after hours and early in the a m)

Tom, If you haven't done so allready, talk to somebody who knows lots about computers (maybe a repair shop). I seem to remember an IBM engineer friend once telling me that most stuff is pretty recoverable even after a bad crash.
Might not pan out, but probably worth a few phone calls....
Looking forward to your book. I'm cooking the blade of my very first folder (a liner lock), even as we speak. Hopefully will get it finished tonight!

Good Luck!
and congrats on the new toy.

Lifter-I have the records of the two solid gold knives with mosaic damascus blades you ordered...but the bummer is your check bounced, so send me a money order for $4k and i will get rolling on your project.. sincerely...(thats without wax)..tom
