Hey all,
I've been off the forums for a while but am getting some time lately to get back into the groove. I was going to post some pictures on another site and remembered about a problem I need to resolve.

A while back my computer died. I got a new pc and a Sabrent hard drive reader to retrieve some important files off the old PC. I managed to find my old document folder files and transferred them all to the new PC. One of the folders contains all of my photos from my knife shop, including every pic of every knife I've ever made. The folder is there, the files are there.....but when I go to open individual pictures I'm told that I can't open the file because I am not the owner. I've attempted to follow the directions to "take ownership" of the file from the computer prompts but haven't been successful. Just curious if anyone has any knowledge on how to get access to all my pics.

Appreciate any advice!

Thanks Black Hills....but when I follow those instructions to take ownership and then change access, I get a message saying an error occurred when changing security settings, access is denied.

There's a registry patch that adds a simple Take Ownership command to the right click mouse menu. This page tells you about it and has the link to the zip file for the patch.

Shunsui!!! Cannot thank you enough my friend. The patch worked perfectly! I now have access to all of the pictures of my work and my shop etc. So very happy to have it back. I was worried it was lost for good. I really appreciate the help my friend!
