Computer Question..!

Howdy There...!
I know that this going to be a dumb question, but I don't know the answer so here goes. How do you guys get those flags and dancing cartoons benneth your user names....?? I have no idea how to do that and I would like to know how to go able creating one, any help would be appreciated. Please use plain langue for descrption of process, not very computer knowlegable.

Go to the button right above your post called "user CP" click on it.
Find the link at the top of the new page called "edit options"
Scroll to the bottom and click on "change avatar"
The waving flag should already be in the database and should be easily selected. Good luck.

Hi Possum,
There are a few ways to put an image (avatar)under your name.First,you need to make one or steal one.Making one isn't difficult to do in a paint program but difficult to explain.Try stealing a flag....Right click on the flag,click copy,and save it to My documents.Go to the user cp up top and then edit options.At the bottom is the avatar section.To bring up an image that you saved,click browse and click the image in my documents...it should now show up on the page.If I'm not mistaken,the flag is already available as an option in the user section but it's good to know how to store and retrive your own stuff.Hope this helps.

Hi Possom,
If you don't already have a sig that you want to use and none of the ones available strike your fancy, there is a forum that you can go to that designs sigs to your request. They do a great job. My wife had them make her a sig honoring the WTC victims and it is really nice. The forum is in delphi.com

Once you register with them, go to the link to publish on the web, there you will find the forum for custom sigs.

I certainly appreciate all the help, this computer stuff is fun. Next question....! I have some files that are store on my computer and I would like to use one of them, but the "edit options" said that my file was too big, (50 x 50) how do I reduce to 50 x 50...?? Be gentle I am new at this stuff.

You'll need to get the image into Microsoft paint,paint shop pro,or another editing program to get the size of the file down to where it is acceptable.In those programs click on file,then open...at this point you need to hunt down the file to get it onto the program.From there,you're on your own

Most graphics editing (some call them photo editors) programs allows you to resize the image down to 50x50.

If you do not have a graphics editor, there are a ton of free ones on the web.
