Computer Virus Warning !

Seems like it had to do with one of the Flash ads they have on there, not Photobucket itself. But still good to know, that's where I host all my pictures.

Its spread through FLASH appellate
just make sure you update the flash part of your internet browser.
(a little window popped up by the clock a few days ago,hopefully
you told it "yes,update now"

I've spent considerable time on PB today trying to capture more screenshots of advertisements with this trojan malware problem and I've noticed that today I haven't seen one of the 2 ads shown in the screenshot I sent Photobucket support last night. I'm hoping that this was the problem and it's been pulled from the rotating ad lineup...but I suggest that you definitely want to check & make sure that you have the latest Flash update and current firewall/AV defs before heading over to your PB albums.

I got a similar hijacking virus on my wife's laptop. All I did was click a link off google. The link tested safe according to Mcaffee.... Anyway, the Mall ware shut down Mcaffee and totally hijacked the PC. We had to completely wipe the drive. Mcaffee Customer support was useless and wanted to charge me 90 bucks to attempt to remove it. So much for the 50 bucks a year I spend with them..:grumpy: Anyway I canceled Mcaffee and run AVG now..

Be careful, that virus was wicked!

I got the worm on my computer about a month ago and it drove me nuts before I got rid of it. I run Avast all the time and malwarebytes as a regular scan now. Hasn't happened again... yet. Avast updates regularly.

I've found that whatever anti-spyware I get there's always one virus that gets through. :grumpy:

I just got rid of AVG, and I wouldn't touch mcafee with a ten foot pole. (it's a PITA)
